Individuals performance is dependent on his/her behavior. Social facilitation is known as the improvement in the performance of an individual by the mere presence of others. It consists of two kinds of social facilitation. First is the coaction effects and the audience effects. The evidences and researches on social facilitation concern the extent to which a given piece of an individual's behavior is affected by the real, imagined or implied presence of others. The theory suggests that the mere or imagined presence of people in social situations creates an atmosphere of evaluation. The co-action effect is the effect that increases the task performance by the mere presence of others doing the same work. The co action effect comes to operation when an individual works more efficiently in a library or an office as compared to home where it is equally (McLeod, 2011). Social facilitation occurs not only in the presence of a co-actor but also in the presence of a passive spectator/audience . This is known as the audience effect. Studies found that the presence of an audience facilitated subjects' multiplication performance by increasing the number of simple multiplications completed. It was found out well trained workers works more better in the presence of spectators. Evidences also show that with some individual there is opposite audience effect, the performance is decreased and more number of trials are required by such people. The extent of social facilitation or inhibition depends upon the nature of the interaction between the task and the performer (Thompson, 2009). It is not the presence that is important, social facilitation depends upon the apprehension of being evaluated by others. The approval and disapproval are often dependent on others evaluations and so the presence of others triggers an acquired arousal drive based on evaluation anxiety. Social influences majorly occur when the individuals opinion, emotions or the behaviors are affected by the others. The social influences occurs in various forms and can be seen if form of conformity, socialization, peer pressure, obedience, leadership, persuasion, sales and marketing. two psychological needs that lead humans to conform to the expectations of others (Mugny et al, 2008). They are two psychological needs of a human being the need to be right (informational social influence), and the need to be liked (normative social influence) According to psychologist, Herbert Kelman there are three broad varieties of social influence or the process of attitude change. These are: Compliance is the act of responding favorably to an explicit or implicit request offered by others. It is the change of the behavior not necessarily an attitude change. An individual can comply due to reasons like mere obedience or by holding ones thought due to social pressure (Aronson, 2010). The satisfaction derived from compliance is due to the feeling of being influenced by the acceptance by others. Identification is the change of attitude or behavior due to the influence of someone that is liked. For example the advertisements that are done by celebrities to market the products take up the advantage of this phenomena (Sussman Gifford, 2013). The desired relationship relationship that the identifier relates with the behavior or attitude change is the reward according to Kelman. Third is Internalization which is the process of accepting a set of norms that are established by people or groups which are influential to the individual. The individual accepts the influence because th e content of the influence accepted is intrinsically rewarding. It is congruent with the individuals value system, and according to Kelman the reward of internalization is the content of the new behavior. There is another type of social influence called conformity. Conformity is a type of social influence which involves change of believe or behavior so as to oneself in a group. It is the essential social mechanism existing in the society. Examples of the conformity are driving on the left side of the road, whenever meeting anyone greeting them with hello, forming a line at the counters, eating with a spoon. This conformed behavior are expected by us and are bound to others and oneself too. However it does not mean that individual can not live independently and have independent behaviour, but these social norms are essential mechanism for social change. Examples of failure to conform which has led to social change include the suffragette movement, civil rights activists in countries with oppressive regimes, and fashion trend-setters (Haugh Vaughan, 2005). Two types of conformity are there informational conformity (also called internalization) and normative conformity (also called comp liance). The compliance conformity tells a public conformity to a group majority or a norm while the individual continues to privately disagree or dissent, holding on to their original beliefs or an alternative set of beliefs differing from the majority. Compliance appears as conformity but there is a division between the public and the private self. Example of it is an individual posing straight in front of public but in reality is a gay (Cialdini Goldstein, 2004). Internalisation conformity is the outward as well as inward behaviour. In this an individual takes up the view points of a group and makes them their own views. In this they conforms as they have believe in the groups view points (Forsyth, 2013). For example adapting vegetarian food habits as the people around believes that harming animal is wrong. There are so many theories performed to study that why does the people conform. One theory of conformism is based on the Solomon Asch conformity experiments (Milligram Stanley, 2003). This theory describes the fundamental relationship among the reference groups and person. It tells that if an individual is incapable or not expert to follow a decision especially in a situational crisis leaves the decision to the group and its hierarchy and obeys there actions and views (Blass Thomas, 2004). One of it is Milgram experiment based on the obedience to the authority figures. It was performed by Yale University. They measured the willingness of study participants to obey an authority figure who instructed them to perform acts conflicting with their personal conscience. Milgram's experiments suggested that the millions of accomplices were merely following orders, despite violating their moral beliefs. The interpretation of the Milligram experiment was that he came up with agentic state the ory. It states that essence of the obedience comes up with the fact that an individual views itself as a instrument to carry out the wishes of the another individual and therefore they do not take them responsible for the actions done by them (Wu William, 2007). Milgram was interested in researching how far people would go in obeying an instruction if it involved harming another person. Stanley Milgram was interested in how easily ordinary people could be influenced into committing atrocitiesThe Milgram Shock Experiment was raised against the ethic questions. The questions were against the ethics of scientific experimentation as the extreme emotional stress and inflicted insight was suffered by the participants. An example of independent behavior is a person actively behaving in a way in which he does what he feel is right and the actions that pleases him are performed. This kind of behaviour is sometime same as the behaviour of the majority (Elizabeth, Minton Lyn, 2014). They can also be a person who follows the order if he feels that the order is right and justified in case any time they feel the order is not justified they disobey the orders. The individual behavior is increased when orders are given to them, especially the ones by which they disagree and they feel that particular orders are not justified. In such cases they adopt independent behavior and or whatever they want to do. The indep endent behavior decreases when the orders given to them are the ones to which the individual agrees, he/she feels the orders given are right and according to them they are justified perfectly. In such cases the individual goes with the majority and follow the orders but however in a way somewhere or the other he is acting independently also by following the orders and going on with the majority (Levitis, Daniel; William,Lidicker, Freund , 2009). This is merely due to the fact that the view points of the majority as well as the view points in his mind are exactly the same. Independent behavior is a trait that is seen in individual who feel that they are right. There are various limitations on the researches that were performed for the independent behaviour of the individuals. The first limitation is that the researches lacks a ecological validity as they were performed under the artificial circumstances and in the lab conditions. Thus they fail to give the findings of a real life setting as, as people do not usually receive orders to hurt another person in real life. The findings are sometime biased as they focus on a particular group especially and thus fail to provide the findings based on the majority. The researches posed artificial situation and are far away from the real life situations. The participants some were knew that they are not in real time situations so it lacked the findings that would be purely restricted to the human behavior. The findings which came up were some what imaginary and molded up (Sherman Gokrin, 2008). The researches didnt give the idea about how to judge the independent behavior like in what circumstances that individual behavior can be permanently changed. All the situations created have low possibilities to happen in real life thus the participants ideas and the actions were more of imaginary and descripted ones. They researches fail to give the participants the felling or real life situations. Summing up it can be said the individual behavior is a mixture of the individual thoughts idea, views and the perception or the view points that an individual forms when he/she is influenced by a person or a group. The social facilitation is the only thing which can improves an individuals behavior as he /she knows that he/she will be judged accordingly (Forges William, 2001). The researches that have been performed are able to tell us and predict the behavior of the human according to the situation to some extend. Following the European invasion in America, Native Americans came to endure many problems. While some have faded, others still linger on in their lives. The issue of alcohol and alcoholism is one of them. From settlers using it to deceive, to today’s issues on the reservation, alcohol has played a devastating role in the lives of Native Americans. Knowing how the issue of alcohol became such a predominate part of Native Americans lives will allow us to spawn ideas on how to end the problem. As the fur trade began gaining momentum in the seventeenth century, so did the alcohol trade. Some European traders offered alcohol during the trading process to manipulate the Native Americans (Eshkibok par. 7). Also, skins and furs where being traded for alcohol instead of necessities the Indian people needed. This occurred because the younger Native American men, who became addicted to alcohol, had control over the trade and chose the alcohol over other items. These decisions left Indian nations in states of poverty and left them in difficulty dealing with the invading Europeans (â€Å"Stereotypes of Native Americans† par. ). As more Europeans entered American, more and more Native Americans were forced into reservations. These reservations left Indians in mass poverty, cultural shock and with no hunting grounds. Reservations with these issues are breeding grounds for social problems, including alcoholism. Many assumptions have been made as to why the Indians became so addicted to alcohol. The biggest factor that causes the alcoholism is how life on the reservations is for Native Americans. As said before, poverty and cultural shock causes depression among the population of the reservation, which leads to substance abuse to cure these feelings. There are a few statistics one must consider, presented in an article by Peter Katel. In reservations nationwide, forty nine percent of the population is unemployed; that is 10 times the national average. Also, deaths from alcoholism are at least six hundred and fifty times higher than the national average. These statistics show how life on the reservation is vastly different. With such a sense of despair in the reservations, it is understandable why people turn to substances for an outlet. While most blame it on the conditions of the reservations, some blame can be put on the chemical make-up and genetics of the Native Americans themselves. Depending on race, the time it takes to metabolize alcohol differs. In the case of Native Americans, the time it takes to metabolize alcohol is lower (Ringwalt par. 3). This difference in metabolizing rates could explain why the Indians developed a habit to alcohol very quickly when first introduced to it when the colonist arrived. Many misconceptions have arrived with the issues of alcoholism in Native Americans though. Due to some reservations having high populations of alcoholics, stereotypes have evolved. Bars began displaying signs forbidding them to drink (â€Å"Stereotypes of Native Americans† par. 5). According to an article written by grad student Mike Eshkibok, the stereotype has even made its way to the big screen in movies like Flags of our Fathers and Apocalypto ; â€Å"These powerful films depict Indians in a violent or stereotypical way, suggesting that all Indians are afflicted with drug and alcohol problems† (par. ). This stereotype has gone as far as to have people believe that Indians are either wise old men, or drunks (Nerburn pg. 185). Scientific study also is affected by these stereotype and leads to biased results. Recent studies were found to have false results about the percentage of Native American alcoholics from two reservations. Even though the results of the new study found that the amount of alcoholics on the reservation were fifty percent higher than national averages, it was still considerably lower than the previous study which found up to eighty percent f the men on the reservations were alcoholics (Ham par. 2). With stereotypes becoming so inflated that it affects scientific studies, a higher concern of solving this problem must begin. Native Americans have dealt with many problems after European colonization, and one of the prevalent issues is alcoholism. With the history of alcohol being an invasive and with modern times leading to more cases of alcoholism, it is hard to say when the Native Americans will see the day when their communities are free of this trouble. Section 2: Alcoholism is an issue in many peoples lives. But for Native Americans it has become a very common issues effecting many people. Native Americans also affect more than health, issues like stereotyping and control come into play. Two authors decided to include the effects of alcohol in their works. You see the thoughts of both Hokti and her family sitting by her side. This issues that are brought up show how each side is affected by the disease. Hokti herself is affected by the â€Å"Alcohol Spirit† who deems her unable to live life with out alcohol, while her family is listening to her younger sister Lori state how she has changed and how dying would be best for her. The problems that are brought up show how the family is affected by the alcoholic daughter and proves that even if they are Native American, they are dealing with a huge problem. Arkeketa play is told by a man telling a story to two children. He is trying to explain why there are no more Native Americans. Alcoholism is tearing up the Native American culture and with out the strength of the Indians and the help from the out side world the Native Americans may never overcome the grasp of alcoholism. Arkeketa may be trying to create this concept in her play. Hokti is hearing the words of her sister, the out side world, and is becoming informed on how she is acting, while hearing this she is battling, and ultimate helping herself conquer alcohol. Alcohol has also affected the reputations of all Indians, not just the ones who are alcoholics. In Neither Wolf Nor Dog by Kent Nerburn, the issue of stereotyping Indians is brought up. Nerburn travels around with an Indian elder named Dan and hears his take on problems facing the Indian people. While at a bar in a local town, two drunk Native Americans walk in and make a scene. This sets Dan off on a story about how people only see Native Americans as either the wise elders or drunk slobs. Stereotyping begins many doubts about the Indian people, even if some chose not to drink or can tolerate themselves. Nerburn was asked by Dan to write this book in hopes of dispelling the common misconceptions about Indians and to show how exactly they have been living. Throughout the story Nerburn has had trouble figuring out how to write the story. He is told that he must not make it white or the message will not get across. Nerburn then decided to write the story as is occurs, in first person. This makes the reader as if themselves are Nerburn going through this journey. So when readers are experiencing this journey they really come to realize how the Native Americans are feeling and get a new perspective. This way of writing will help the readers dispel the stereotypes they may have had, especially on alcoholism. Seeing an Native Americans point of view on issues like this really gives the public a full view of issues like alcoholism in Native American lives. With authors like Nerburn and Arkeketa writing about the difficulties of alcoholism in Native Americans lives, people will begin to see how the Native Americans are dealing with the issue and how some are connected even though they don’t suffer from the diseases at all. Nowadays, various strategies generated by government to promote natural tourism and the unique of custom as a new attraction tourists. Therefore, tourists nowadays more interest with nature tourism, so government play important role in conserve and maintain the quality of the recreation center and nature in Malaysia can bring positive growth and give benefit to society as well. Besides can promote cultural village which rich of natural environment, society indirectly also can get the benefit and impact from this tourism strategy. From this studies, conservation and retention program were important to environment in Malaysia. While environmental quality on the other hand is productive asset to society. 1.8 Research Organization This project paper will divided to five chapters: Chapter 1 discuss about the important of conservation and preservation of the cultural area in Malaysia. Therefore, this study will issue objective to achieve the conservation study. Apart from that, research scope and methodology also be explained clearly in this chapter. Chapter 2 is part to increase knowledge in the subject area. Besides that, collection previous studies from others economist researcher as a references to identify information and ideas that relevant to this research. Chapter 3 focuses on describing the associated methodology in the analysis of the contingent valuation for conservation and retention of the Sarawak Cultural Village. Method that will be used is Contingent Valuation Method (CVM). Furthermore, Statistical Package for the School Science (SPSS) software will be used to strengthened result of the study by looking relationship among each variables. Besides, various test will be run for the independent and dependent variables. Model will be use in this study will be explained clearly in this chapter. Type of data collection in this study is primary data through questionnaire method. Therefore, sampling point focus at area Damai Beach, Santubong, area Sarawak Cultural Village. Total respondent in this study around one hundred and will use interview method based on objective study. Chapter 4 presents the data analysis result of the study with different test. Every decision will be elaborated clearly and performing in graph form and schedule. Interpretation of result will be stated in this section. Chapter 5 is the last chapter in this study. This chapter would be summarize the study been discussed and provides information to develop policies and strategies to ensure conservation and retention program on cultural village continuously so that future generation have chance to enjoy the benefit and economic value from this conservation.

Classic Hollywood is the first thing that comes to mind when one speaks about this film’s style. This signature category combined with the visual style of realism and it’s continuity editing; detailed mise-en-scene and all of its characteristics; and lastly the use of reoccurring motifs with formalistic qualities make the audience grasp the central theme of just how vicious the actual motion industry can be to the individuals that keep its alive. I hope to convey all of this through a detailed explanation involving and about specific scenes included in the film and a direct tie-in of how the precise attributes above play such an important role in expressing that theme. The next thing is a cross cut to the actual mansion where more commotion is viewed at an obvious murder scene. Bottom line is that the mise-en-scene involved here does an excellent job setting up the movie’s thematic intentions.... ... truly thinks is going to be another film. The whole scene in its’ entirety depicts that once again the â€Å"dream† can be destroyed just as her life has done the same. The final integration of this motif comes in the very last frame as the movie fades out; only this is not a normal fade out. Instead Wilder chooses to blur the fade into an eerie white, which gives us a sense that the dream is now finally over.
